What Is Trello?

Trello app is for entrepreneurs and freelancers who are looking to boost their productivity.

Tthe app works as it helps you to manage your business whilst you’re doing what you do best.

If you’re wanting to boost productivity in your online business the Trello app will help you.

Trello app fits in with an entrepreneurs business from when you are starting to grow.

This project management software is not just for larger brands to use. It’s software that’s great for new entrepreneurs who are just trying to manage workload.

How I Used Trello Effectively In My Online Business

As a new freelancer I started to use Trello in my business and getting many clients, I found myself in this happy situation.

Situation of having client work (which I was thrilled about!), but I had no time for marketing.

Marketing my business so I keep up that brand awareness.

After all, I wanted to keep on top of the marketing just in case I ever needed any new clients.

If I had no marketing done on my social media channels, I have no leads in my pipeline. That’s a really scary situation.

Without any leads in your pipeline, you’ve got even less certainty of getting clients if one drops off your current list of clients.

Doing client work and marketing your business in tandem is nothing but exhausting.

We’re a one man band and only can do so much at any one time. Not forgetting the need to have a life as well.

Signing Up To Trello

Signing up to Trello, I added team members (which was 2 team members only) who could do the marketing of my business.

After I scaled my freelance business, I added other freelancers that could do the actual client work.

With everyone being assigned specific tasks on the Trello board, you can see where everyone is at in doing the task.

This gave me so much peace of mind that your business is being run in the background whilst you’re doing client work.

  4. Mailchimp
  5. Hootsuite

Creating A Trello Board

To create a Trello board, you need to log in to your Trello account.

After you’ve logged in, click ‘Boards’ on the left hand column.

From there, you can choose a template for your Trello board.

first step to create a Trello board

After you’ve created your Trello board, you can create a board of 4 lists of cards typically heading

  • Brainstorm
  • To do
  • Doing
  • Done

Every card you create in a list represents a task to do in that list.

You can add as many cards as you want to each list.

Click on the card and you can

  • Add a title
  • Write a description
  • Invite your team member to a specific card
  • Set a due date
  • Include a checklist

Adding the team member to a specific card for me is the most valuable tool.

That team member can see straight away when they login to Trello what task is assigned to them.

For example, I have a social media assistant.

I create a card inside the Trello board for that specific task to do. Then I specify the time, date, and content to be included in the post.

Doing this small thing boosts my productivity exponentially. How could using a Trello board boost your productivity?

In A Nutshell,

In this Trello tutorial, you’ve learned how you can get started with it, what plan is right for you, and the integrations that are available. If you’re wanting to boost productivity in your online business, but don’t know-how try out the Trello app for free today.
